Employee Passed Away at 45: How to Calculate Pension for His Spouse and Daughter?

One of the employees expired at the age of 45 years on 9th June '16 while in service and had worked continuously for four years in the paper mills. He is a P.F. member employee, and his current basic salary is Rs. 4000. How much pension amount will his spouse and daughter receive? Please clarify this and provide the pension calculation.

If the salary on which PF contribution is paid is Rs. 4000, the spouse will receive Rs. 1681 as a pension. Each of the 2 children will receive Rs. 420 at a time.

Thank you for your reply. His basic salary is Rs. 6000/- and he has only one son who is 16 years old. How much pension will his spouse and son receive?

Dear P.S. Kumar,

If the salary on which PF is paid is Rs. 6000, the widow's pension will be Rs. 2001. Each child will receive Rs. 500.
