Facing a Dilemma: Should I Disclose a Past Car Accident Case in My Job Application?

coolknhot
I got selected by an IT company (TCS/INFOSYS), and while filling out the background verification form, I need to disclose whether there are any closed or pending cases against me prior to joining TCS. I am in a dilemma about mentioning a case I had, where I was acquitted from a car accident a couple of years back. I have some doubts:

1. If I do not disclose the case, it could be considered as concealing facts, which may lead to termination from the job.
2. If I do disclose it, will it affect my job? Will I be terminated? What would be the consequences?

Please help me decide what I should do.

What was the nature of the case against you?

In your place, I would write details of a closed/acquitted case. This is my personal opinion.

Depending on the role on offer, it may or may not impact an offer. As part of the background check, you will have to provide all the facts based on which the employer will decide whether to still make an offer.

Provide all the information as sought. A traffic violation, even if not acquitted, need not be an impediment for employment; the offense does not involve any moral turpitude.
