Worried About "Involuntary" Exit on My Record: Will It Affect Future Job Applications?

I need some real help here. I have resigned from my job due to personal issues where the employer asked me to serve the notice period, but I requested and obtained a waiver for the same. I have received a relieving letter from my employer accepting my resignation. However, the exit type is marked as involuntary. Will this exit type cause issues in my background verification when I apply for a new job? Please, someone respond, I am so worried.

Resignation alone can be a voluntary exit from the perspective of an employee's act, and the exit at the instance of the employer, such as discharge, retrenchment, dismissal, etc., are only involuntary. To the best of my understanding, a waiver of notice requirements granted by the employer cannot render the exit on resignation, after its due acceptance, involuntary. Perhaps, it may be a clerical error in the drafting. Please check with your ex-employer.

At the time of my resignation, I was undergoing a disciplinary action that was about to be taken. However, since I didn't want to wait for the final outcome and was also facing some personal issues, I decided to resign as I couldn't handle all the issues together. I wrote my resignation to my employer, explaining my personal issues and requesting to be relieved by waiving my notice period. Initially, my employer said it was not possible to waive the notice period. However, after my detailed explanation, the employer agreed to waive it and relieve me. That is how I got relieved. Please provide your insight on this.

Possibility of Changing Exit Status

1) Is there any possibility that my employer can change this status from involuntary to voluntary? How can I write to them?

2) I'm feeling helpless and worried that this will affect my career as I have not been made aware that such remarks will be made.

From the facts mentioned, although disciplinary action was contemplated, no charge memo was issued. Therefore, it cannot be said that disciplinary proceedings were pending at the time of accepting your resignation. Was your resignation accepted without any conditions? If so, the communication itself should be conclusive that the exit was voluntary.
