I accepted an offer of employment in an MNC, but they rejected my candidacy two days prior to the joining date. The reason they mentioned is that I failed to meet their requirement for Pre-Employment Screening verification (in simple terms, background verification) concerning my last employer. However, when I asked them to specify the requirement, they refused to do so. Moreover, I contacted my last employer to inquire about any verification, and they denied any inquiry made on behalf of anyone. When I went to their office, they mentioned that my last employer could be a probable suspect of issuing fake certificates, without any evidence. Would taking legal action against them be a good option?
I have all the documents needed to prove the authenticity of my last employment. Even my last employer is an MNC.
