I am an employer of a private limited company. In my company, there are 550 employees. The company has deducted professional tax but is not paying it to the municipal corporation. Please help me with this problem. So, please give a proper reply.

Inform the concerned department regarding the deduction of PT and non-remittance to the Sales Tax Department with full details of the company. Remember, the company will act tough if they come to know of your complaint.

You can make a call to the call center of the municipal corporation and inform them about this issue. They will ensure that the employer pays the damages and interest. So, there is no need to worry. The employer cannot evade making the payment even after a year. The delay will be a headache for the employer only, not for the employees.

I don't think Professional Tax (PT) falls under the purview of sales tax officials.

Hi friend,

DEDUCTION OF PROFESSION TAX AND REMITTANCE... This topic relates to income tax and commercial tax departments, not the municipal office. Please call the toll-free number of the income tax department or send them an email with your complaint.

Understanding Professional Tax

Hey guys, I do not know how you are answering a topic without knowing the meaning of the subject word. Please check it in Wikipedia on professional tax: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_Tax.

Commercial tax departments look after taxes levied on the sale of goods, whereas income tax officials focus on income earned by individuals, corporations, or any businesses through various sources. The excise department deals with service tax, excise duty on manufacturing goods, customs, etc. Professional tax, however, is levied by corporations or town panchayats.
