Are Employers Paying Less Than Minimum Wage? How Can Workers Report This Issue?

I have seen many establishments that are paying wages to their employees less than the wages prescribed by the state minimum wages act. My query is, why no action is being taken against these employers? Also, can you please advise where employees can lodge complaints regarding the same?

Complaints can be filed with the authority under the Payment of Wages Act. This is generally the Labour Commissioner of the area or government Labour Officer (GLO/GLC).

Further, you can seek help from the NGOs working in the field of labour and any of the large unions, which also have the resources to fight this matter.
