Can anybody share the MTC of a safety net from any manufacturer that complies with IS 11057? I have tried to search on the internet but could not find adequate MTC for the same.

Dear Mr. Kailash,

What do you mean by MTC? Is that the Material of Construction (MOC) of the safety net what you are looking for?

If it's MOC, you can find it in IS 11057 itself. Please refer to section 3.1 of IS 11057.

Please clearly state your query so that the members can assist you.

Thank you.

Hi Dipil,

Thank you for your reply. I was asking for the material test certificate of the safety net. I have an MTC of the safety net which complies with IS 5175, but it does not show the type of net, duty height, drop height, and deflection of the center of the net. I think now my query is understandable.

Thank you.

As per my knowledge, what we should ensure when it comes to Safety Net is as follows:

1. There should be a test certificate of the Safety Net from the manufacturer. This should clearly state the expiry date, the standard it conforms to, and the Safe Working Load (SWL). Additionally, you should follow the care and maintenance guidelines of the Safety Net as per the manufacturer's recommendations.

2. You should have an internal checklist to inspect the condition of the Safety Net periodically, and the net should be taken out of use if any damages are found.

Regarding the test certificate you mentioned, as you said, it is based on IS 5175. This standard refers to Polypropylene ropes (3-strand hawser-laid and 8-strand-plaited). In this case, I am unsure about the reliability of this certificate, as this standard does not correspond to the make of Safety Nets. What is the make of this safety net? Does the certificate cover the name of the manufacturer?

Thank you.

Thanks Dipil Sir,

As you asked, the certificate doesn't mention or cover the name of any manufacturer. I am also not sure about the reliability of the same. It means I can't consider this certificate, and I have to do a third-party test for the same.
