Hi friends,

I am Iniya. I have completed my MCA, but I am not interested in IT. Should I work in HR? I have no idea about this. Please give me good advice for my career.

Hello there. My name is Bilal, and I would try my best to help. I can reflect on you since I am in my final year of B.TECH CSE, and I am gonna work in business development, HR, or public relations.

Now about your HR passion. You do not need a BBA or any business degree to go into HR. You just need the talent, period. That is to say you should be self-motivated, responsible, quick in decision-making. Plus, you must have a bold personality and leadership qualities.

Now, do you have those traits?

Absolutely, you can. HR roles usually demand any graduate. All you need to do is crack the interview. You have to be confident, with lots of leadership skills. The fact of the matter is they won't ask for an MBA or any business degree; private players usually tend to hire recruits based on the interview. But of course, to be selected for an interview, you need to have a terrific resume or CV. Highlight your goals, your skills, and clearly mention why you are the right candidate for the job. The resume should be one or two pages long. You could also add a cover letter. All you need to succeed in the corporate world is confidence in yourself.

Dear IniyaGanesan,

The HR field is a specialist job. One needs to have a good knowledge of its functions. Needless to say, talent is an added advantage in any field. I suggest you take a course in Business Management.

Thank you.
