Confused About Notice Period: Am I Still on Probation or Confirmed Without Notice?

Priya@86
Hello, I am working with an MNC in Chennai. I joined this company last year in December, and my confirmation is due in 2 days. Yesterday, I resigned from the company, but my boss said that I have been confirmed 3 days back; however, I haven't received any mail or message regarding confirmation. My concern is during the probation period, my notice is 15 days, and for confirmed employees, it is 3 months. I would like to know which notice period would apply in my case. Additionally, as per my HRMS software, I am still shown as on probation status, and my last date is the 25th of this month. Kindly help as I feel they are playing politics with me.

Confirmation is to be officially given to you. They are playing games, and the best way out is to put all dates of joining as a probationer and when the probation should have ended and on what date you have resigned. Raise the level to HR HoD for a clear answer. The intimation of confirmation not being sent to you is a mistake from the company's side, and you need to stick to your stand and give a 15-day notice.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. However, I applied for resignation on the 11th of May, and as soon as I submitted my resignation in the tool, I received a confirmation email. Initially, when I applied for resignation, the date of relieving was set for the 25th of May. However, upon checking today, I noticed that the date has been changed to the 5th of August, and the notice period has been extended to 90 days. The confirmation letter indicates the effectiveness from the 12th of May, even though I submitted my resignation on the 11th of May. I am concerned that they might request me to serve the extended 90-day notice period, which is not feasible for me. Please help.

Thank you.
