Navigating Overlapping Employment Dates: How to Handle This Job Switch Dilemma?

satswid1
I worked for Company X for three years, but they were not willing to shorten my notice period (90 days) even though I was not allocated to any project for a long time. I resigned from X as I got a great offer from Company Y, who even agreed to take me without a relieving letter. Even after I resigned in March and gave 15 days' notice, X sent me multiple show cause notices (to which I replied in time) and eventually a termination letter in April. I fought with them for a year and finally got my clean relieving letter.

Now I am looking to switch to Company Z, and I have all the letters, but the joining date in Y's letter is around 20 days before the ending date in X's letter, thus creating an overlap. What can I do about it now?

If the dates of X and Y are showing overlap, then it indicates dual employment, which is not allowed under labor laws. For more information, visit www.labourlawhub.com
