Travel Allowance and Employment Rights
I am working at a client-side location for my company. The client-side location is very far away from my usual workplace, so I have to claim a travel allowance from my company. However, my company is not willing to provide any allowance. They insist that I have to manage it without any financial support. Moreover, my manager has warned me that I might be fired if I refuse to comply.
Even though the HR policy mentions the provision of a travel allowance, the HR department does not seem to be supportive. It is a small firm, and I feel that they are being unfair to their employees. I am concerned about how to handle this situation as I do not want my future to be jeopardized by these circumstances. Could you please advise me on my rights as an employee in this situation? Do they have the right to terminate my employment? Can I seek legal assistance?
Thank you in advance for any valuable suggestions. Please respond.
