Is a Notice Period Required During Probation? Seeking Advice on My Situation

Hi All,

I have joined a multinational company 2 months back and I am resigning from this organization due to personal family reasons. My HR is asking me to complete the notice period of 2 months. I was assuming the notice period is not applicable in the probation period.

There are no specific labor laws that an employee is supposed to give a notice period if he is in a probation period. It depends upon an agreement/appointment letter signed by both the employee and employer.
