Facing Resignation Challenges: How to Handle HR's Absconding Warning?

v011012
Hi,

I joined a small company one month ago and attended the office for three days. However, due to some personal problems, I am unable to continue with the job. Now, I wish to submit my resignation for that position. The HR department has informed me that they will take action for absconding in this situation. What should I do next? I would appreciate your suggestions.

What capacity did you join? Was there any formal letter of appointment? In three days, did they assign you to a project or job, etc.? Speak to management and submit your concerns in writing; remember, you have only spent three days. Do not worry about threats of absconding.

Hi Buddy,

As Mr. Nathrao advised, don't worry about the absconding threat. Visit your company, meet your immediate supervisor and HR head, and inform them about your decision in writing. Surely, they will relieve you.

Are you looking for a relieving letter from the company for the 3 days worked?

I can help you with that. Please provide me with the necessary details so I can assist you further. Thank you.

Yes, the management can take action. What they can do is issue a charge sheet, initiate a domestic enquiry, and terminate your service. Nothing more than that. Since you have decided not to continue and have worked for only 3 days, you have practically nothing to lose.
