Stuck Without Guidance: How Do I Hand Over Responsibilities Before Leaving My Job?

anirban.gope
Presently, I am employed in an organization. I have already tendered my resignation letter to my current company, stating that 05.02.2016 will be my last working day. The notice was served one month before. At that time, my IRA was on leave and is still on leave. After receiving no reply from my IRA, I forwarded my resignation email to my MD, and it was accepted.

The current problem I face is whom to hand over my responsibilities to. I have repeatedly requested guidance via email from both my HR person and my IRA, but they have not responded. I have also emailed the concerned MD, but to no avail.

Now, I kindly seek your guidance as I only have 7 days left.

Thank you.

Make a brief of whatever company jobs you were handling. List out all files and assets you are holding and keep them physically safe and ready for handover - computer, company property, etc. Send this list with a specific query as to who will take over. What is IRA? Visit HR and insist on getting a replacement to take over the items, property, documents, etc.

Dear Member,

IRA stands for Immediate Reporting Authority. HR has not replied to anything. They simply say, "We will see and let you know." The brief has already been mailed to the concerned person, but no one has replied. Specific queries have been raised in several emails, but no one has replied.

Thank you.

You have done your part. If possible, physically discuss with your HR/IRA/MD, or a gentle reminder may be sent.
