Sir, copies of the documents can also be obtained from concerned departments by filing applications under RTI Act, 2005.

RTI to get duplicate copies of certificates ?
Have you even read the RTI act to understand that it is for and how it works ?

Dear Mr. Saswata Banerjee ji, I will request you to kindly indicate whether your remarks as above "RTI to get duplicate copies of certificates ? Have you even read the RTI act to understand that it is for and how it works ?" are directed towards me ? Whether by your above remarks you want to know from me whether I have read and understand RTI ?

This link gives some details of how to get duplicate copies.
Best way out is to visit your nearest branch of ESI and EPF and seek advice.

Yes, mr. Harsh.
The question was directed to you.

We are unnecessarily taking the discussion to personal debating. If RTI Act has nothing to do with issuing of duplicate certificates, yes, you can categorically say that it is not meant for that but statements like "have you read the Act" may be avoided and we should stop the discussion here itself.
The thread starter has already got the answer, ie, apply for duplicate and it is simple also particularly when the original is lost in a natural calamity which is known to everybody.

Members should show dissent by stating facts and pointing to valid documents instead of questioning the intellect of others.
Lets keep this mature and polite.

My apologies.
The problem is that people put suggestions that are incorrect and then some poor fellow reading the thread goes on a wrong path and causes more grief for him self.
But you are right, my wording should have been to the point and not personal.
