Struggling to Withdraw PF from Maharashtra While Based in Delhi – Need Urgent Help!

I have worked for a company for 6 months and 27 days in Delhi. Though the company is based in Delhi, the PF is deposited in Maharashtra. I have left the job and submitted my PF withdrawal form, which got deposited on September 25, 2007 after regular follow-ups.

My problem is that since I am based in Delhi, the Delhi office people, after depositing the form, are not helping me to follow up for my PF withdrawal. The local agent in Mumbai is not contactable. I need these funds very urgently, latest by November end or December beginning as I am in need due to family exigency. Also, I do not have anyone in Mumbai who can locally help me to find the status of my PF account. I have been told that withdrawing PF from Maharashtra is a very tedious job and regular follow-up needs to be done. Please help me as the sum is large and I need it very urgently due to family exigency.

Have you submitted the PF form personally to the Delhi office or by your company executive? If yes, the Delhi office is responsible for the settlement of your claim.

I would like to suggest a few things:

1. If you have a receipt of the submission of the form, you can meet with the higher authority at the Delhi office for an inquiry into the same.
2. Also, check which documents were submitted along with your withdrawal form.
3. Usually, it will take around 40 days (without holidays), but I think your claim will be settled by the end of November if you follow up through the proper channels.

The PF has been deposited in Maharashtra, not Delhi, and the company has a laid-back attitude as far as the follow-up is concerned.

I have an acknowledgment number on the receipt. Is there a telephone number for the PF office or a local agent in Mumbai where I can provide this number? I would like to inquire about the status.
