How Effective Is an Android App for Tracking Employee Attendance at Remote Sites?

Seeking Advice on App Use for Site Operations

I have been working in a manufacturing company for the last two years as an Assistant Manager in HR & Admin. My total experience in the HR field is 7 years. Our company specializes in the manufacturing and supply of sugar machinery. We have a total of 100 employees, with 65 employees in the factory, 25 employees in the corporate office, and approximately 10 employees at various sites in India.

I would like to seek suggestions from all respected seniors regarding how useful this app can be for employers and what the disadvantages are in using this app for site operations.

Application Objectives

I think in the application, you are looking to achieve the following:

1. To trace the movement of field staff.
2. To avoid administrative work related to regulating onsite work timings (such as filling out OD slips, getting them approved, etc., and avoiding delays in updating OD slips).
3. Computation of any allowances for fieldwork.

The application will be useful for the same. Please outline the policies for the following:

1. Ownership of smartphones.
2. Who will bear expenses for data pack activation. If the minimum charges of the data pack are considered as Rs. 49 per month, then 49 * 12 months * 100 employees will be nearly Rs. 60,000. This will be an annual expense.
3. Finalizing a mobile service provider that will have coverage of data connectivity at all locations.
4. Procedures in case of loss or damage to smartphones.
