Hi Kishorry,
I think you need to think about here is what happens if at the end of the extended probation and his performance is still not up to par. What happens then?
On what basis do you gauge his performance? Have you informed him throughout the course of the probation period of his performance? What areas he needs to improve? Was he given the right training? Counsel?
If you have done all that and at the end of the probation period you still find him lacking and there is no mark improvements, then instead of keeping the guy, you ought to just dismiss him. Unless you still see a glimmer of hope and think that things will improve. If so, then proceed to extend his probation.

If any not working successfully in his/her probation period. Can we extend his/her probation period? Can we decrease his/her salary? If we decrease his/her salary than there are any criteria?
