Confused About Employee Grading? Need Help Understanding Alphanumeric System!

Hi all,

I was entering the employees into the system, I mean new employees. I saw the alphanumeric method of grading employees, but I didn't know which grade was for whom. When I asked the payroll accountant, he said, "No, you simply enter them as they are all too busy."

However, I need to know properly before entering, as to which grade corresponds to whom. Can anyone please guide me properly and shed some light on this matter?
