Confused About Earned Leave Calculation? Let's Break It Down Together!

JJanaki
Dear Sir,
Reference to earned /privilege leave calculation as per AP establishment act, the employee will have to work for 240 days and he is entitled for 1 EL for 20 working days. My question is if we have to calculate ELs for 1 year i.e 365 minus 52 Sundays -52 saturdays-9 National and Festival holidays – 240 /20 is 12 casual leaves .
Please help me we need to calculate this way or what is the exact calculation if possible with an example.
Awaiting your response.
Regards
Deepti

You have to add the total number of days in a year that an employee presented himself in the office. Then, divide this total by 20, which will be his earned leave.

Thank you.

Hi, Ms. Deepti. You can even reduce the number of leaves availed in his previous year and consider it for EL. Otherwise, as advised by Mr. Diwakar, you can count the number of days the employee worked and divide by 20.

The succeeding year EL also needs to be considered to reckon 240 days of eligibility. For the calculation of EL, the actual number of attended days should be considered and divided by 20.
