Very good question.. Personal emails are not recognized by Indian law..next option is India post..?

You can provide Gps based devices that will confirm where the employee is when he signs in and where he is all day.

Every employee works under his HOD & is accountable to him for discharging his duties efficiently & effectively. The HOD entrusts field work to his staff as he knows about their work and such attendance certified by HOD are accepted by HR for Salary. There is a Form "OOD" ON OFFICIAL DUTY which is used to keep track of such Outstation works. HOD approves it mentioning the Place of OOD, Purpose & Period.
In big Cos. where there are several Dept.s & hundreds of employees, we have to rely on HODs for their attendance also. Security, Vigilance Officers also monitors employees movement & HR Heads get grapewine msg thru his contact & he can gather any mischief and clarify from HODs.
GPS & other new devices suggested by Seniors can also be used to monitor the work of employees on OOD.

As per cyber laws of India.. Emails are recognized
With concerned location IP address.
Many companies/Indian courts are recognized.
Hence, if company do not have infrastructure in location
Where biometrics/staff/office,mails are recognized as attendance & daily reports.

In some IT companies, where work from home is permitted, including teleconferencing from home, an identity card is to be inserted in the key-board of the person (who works from home) so as to ensure veracity of his identity as also mark attendance (from - to time).

Email attendance/daily email reports by employee personal mail ID or company mail ID with IP address is legally valid documents.. as per Indian cyber law.
SC has accepted same with PDF copies.

And how will IP address help ? This is attendance records, not a police crime investigation

Yes,when company make lose of pay even though after receipt of email daily work reports,it is going to be legal police investigation case, come out of old system & make use of digital world(pls check cyber laws for more clarification)

I do not understand what the police investigation comes from. No one goes to police for deduction of salary and the police will not waste time investigating such a case. The rationality of the post is not evident to me.
The question was how to validate attendance of field force. Attendance is not same as work report. Further, work reports would be made end of day, and not from the place of work. So in any case the IP address etc would have been meaningless
