Understanding PT Deductions in Karnataka: How Does Salary Fluctuation Affect Liability?

Dear All,

I have a doubt regarding PT Deduction. I am using Saral PayPack Software.

In Saral software, if anybody earns below 15000/-, PT is not applied. In Karnataka, the PT cutoff rate is 15000/-.

If an employee's salary per month is 15100/-, they are liable for PT. If the same employee earns below 14000/-, are they still liable for PT?

If the same employee is absent for 29 days out of 30 and receives 533Rs., what is the PT for this employee?

Kindly, can anyone help me with this?

Hi,

If any employee draws 15000/- and above, they will have to contribute towards PT. However, if the same employee is drawing less than 15000/- in a particular month due to LOP or any other reason, then PT is not required to be contributed for that specific month.
