Navigating Job Offer Uncertainty: Should I Wait or Keep Job Hunting?

bhavya_15
I have 2 years and 6 months of experience in IT recruitment, and I left my job in November 2015 due to health issues. I have recovered from my health issues and am now looking for a change. I had an interview at XYZ consultancy, and I am pleased to say that I have cleared all the rounds. The hiring manager informed me to submit all the required documents, which I have done. I also informed them that I would be able to join after the Sankranthi festival, which falls on the 18th of January 2016. However, when I contacted the HR department, they informed me that they have forwarded all my documents to senior management. They mentioned that the offer would only be released once it is approved by them.

Question About Hiring Process

Does the same process happen in all companies and consultancies? When I inquired about my selection status, I was told that everything would be confirmed on Monday. Only after confirmation, they will request us to submit the documents. I am confused about whether I should keep my hopes up for the offer letter or start searching for a new job. I appreciate your opinions and welcome any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Bhavya

I do hope only Xerox copies of documents have been sent to the company. No one can predict whether senior management will accept or not, but chances are that they will give a positive response. However, no one stops you from looking around still. You may get a confirmed offer before these people decide. So continue applying till you get a confirmed offer and do not rely solely on mere words. All the best.

Hi Bhavya,

Did you receive just a call confirmation from them that you are selected, or did you receive a proper offer letter? If it was just verbal communication, then chances are that they might flip the decision. You never know what the senior management decides.

In my opinion, you can keep hopes for this job if you are pretty sure that all the documents you have submitted are in accordance with the details you had provided at the time of the interview. Keep applying until then. Good luck!

Some companies follow specific rules, but there is no problem; they will release your offer. In my case, they requested documents first, and later they released the offer.
