New to HR: How Do I Set Up PF and ESI for Our Small Company Employees?

I am Sathish, a new member of our group. I work in a small company as an HR professional located in Andhra Pradesh. We are currently in the process of setting up PF and ESI for our employees. I have taken on the responsibility for this action.

I would appreciate your guidance on how we can establish PF and ESI for the employees, the process involved, and the forms required for implementation. Your assistance is highly valued.

How many employees are there in your company? If you are planning to contribute for ESI & EPF, first, you have to enroll with ESI & EPF. Both ESI & EPF should be registered online, and later, you have to remit to the department.

For PF, visit epfindia.gov.in, use the employer option, and proceed with the registration of a new establishment online. You will need to provide your email id, digital signatures, PAN card, and other necessary details.

For ESI, go to esic.in, and register using your email id. Your user ID and password will be sent to your email for registration. Fill out the form, and you will receive the number online. Note that a digital signature is mandatory for the registration of the establishment starting from January 2016.

1. Can I handle the registration part on my own, or do I need to seek third-party help? I am new to this and don't know much beyond the deduction part.

You can do it on your own. There is no need to rely on a third party. Before registration, you need to have a digital signature.
