Feeling Overlooked at Work: How Do I Talk to My Manager About Missing My Raise?

govindsrgm@gmail.com
Hi,

Last year, I did not receive my increment, and everyone is telling me I am a hard worker and sincere. I am dealing with other colleagues who also have good manners. I will do my work sincerely and honestly and complete it in a timely manner. In my division, two of them are not getting an increment. I do not know how to move or discuss this with my manager. In my mind, I want to fight with those people. Can anyone advise?

Sir,

I think you should go and ask them the exact reason for not receiving an increment. When you ask, approach it positively rather than negatively. For example, you could say, "Sir, I have been working here for a certain number of days, could you please tell me where I may have fallen short?"

Some questions you could consider asking include:
- What are your expectations from me?
- How can I work towards getting an increment?
- What criteria have you established for determining increments, such as based on performance or years of service?
- Show them your tasks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Remember not to jump to any conclusions before having a thorough discussion.

Thank you.
