Hi, can anyone help me with the leave policy for an IT firm? It's urgent; we have to implement it as soon as possible.

You can design and frame the policy as per your firm's requirements. It varies from company to company. Before framing the policy, you have to ensure the following points are covered:

- What is the eligibility of EL/PL as per the Leave with Wages Act in your state, and how many ELs is the management willing to offer (normally it will be 1 EL for every 20 days worked)?
- What is the eligibility of SL as per the Leave with Wages Act in your state, and how many SLs is the management willing to offer?
- What is the eligibility of CL as per the Leave with Wages Act in your state, and how many CLs is the management willing to offer?
- Plan for who is the approving authority of leaves like HOD/FH/HR.
- Plan for the minimum and maximum leaves for each category.
- Plan for the mode of leave request such as Leave card/any software/leave application/email, etc.
