Considering a Yearly Contract HR Role: What Should I Ask Before Accepting?

milanantani2007
Hello all,

I have been called for an interview for the position of HR Officer at a renowned organization in Gujarat. The HR department informed me that I would be on a contractual basis and the contract would be renewed yearly.

I am seeking advice on whether I should attend the interview and, if selected, accept the job offer. What specific questions should I ask regarding the contract? Will I be considered a full-time employee? What will be my role within the organization?

I would greatly appreciate any guidance as I do not wish to miss out on this wonderful opportunity.

Dear Milan,

Do not be afraid regarding the appointment conditions. Specify your pay emoluments and get an increase of 4.8% after negotiation for gratuity purposes. It is definite that they will not engage you on the company's payroll, put you on a retainer ship, or outsource you to a third party. So, if you have no other alternatives, go ahead, get it, and enjoy the opportunity.

However, you may also discuss insurance coverage or mediclaim facilities on your part. If not, negotiate an increase of Rs 10,000 per annum in your package.

Thank you.
