Transferred PF but Missing Pension from Old Job: What Steps Should My Friend Take?

RAJU SHRINAME
Respected Seniors,

My friend transferred his PF account from his previous employer to his new employer. After 1.5 years, he resigned from his new employer and claimed to withdraw his full PF (from both the previous and new employers). His pensionable service is less than 10 years. The claim was sanctioned, and the amount was transferred to his bank account, but the pension amount from the previous employer has not been received.

What should be done?

EPF and EPS Transfer Details

If the EPF amount is transferred, the EPS will also be transferred by default. You can visibly see the amount transferred in the EPF, but in the case of EPS, the number of years of service, like 9 years, and the last drawn salary details will be transferred to the new EPF account. This is the practice in the EPFO.

If you need proof of it, you can submit an RTI request at the regional EPFO. They will provide all the documents related to your transfer within 15 to 30 days. You can keep those documents for your records.
