Pregnant and on a Contract: Can I Get Maternity Leave After My Job Ends?

Np123
I have a contractual term of employment of 1 year with my employer, which is extendable every year. I am pregnant, and my contract is ending in the same month as my due date. Please let me know if I can claim maternity leave beyond the contract end date.

What are the terms and conditions of your contract regarding maternity? If there are none, you need to claim for the same before the expiry of the contract. On the other hand, if you are claiming the same after the expiry of the contract, then you are not eligible to receive any benefits under maternity.

Greetings,

Here's the contribution received from an HR Head: contractual employees would be treated the same way as employees on the payroll.
