How Can I Create HR Policies to Keep Employees from Leaving Our Education Group?

Prashanthi G
Hello Seniors,

I need to frame policies for my company, which is actually an Education Group. Most of my employees are leaving the organization without proper intimation. So, I need to frame some good HR policies wherein I can attract my employees and they will not leave the organization.

Can you please help me out with some good HR policies and procedures?

Reasons for Employees Leaving Organizations

Reasons for employees leaving organizations without intimation can be many, such as lack of pay, welfare, and career growth. Therefore, the first step is to identify the exact reasons. This can be done by contacting those employees who have left and understanding the reasons, which will help in addressing and resolving the issue.

Prior to suggesting HR policies, I would like to emphasize that one of the primary reasons for employees leaving could be inadequate pay. It is essential to ensure that your organization's compensation is competitive in the market and that welfare activities are not compromised. Instead of taking a tough stance, focus on strategies to improve retention.

Suggested Policies

Suggested policies should be framed under the following categories:
- Employee engagement
- Training and Development
- Career growth
- Employee participation in management
- Open-door system
- Implementing a suggestion box, etc.

I am afraid the above suggestions are less than constructive. If the employees are leaving frequently, it shows a system deficiency; the problem lies with the organization itself. The obvious solution is in a dispassionate soul-searching. Please note that the starting block for any improvement lies in being absolutely honest with oneself.

Most of my employees are leaving the organization without proper intimation. First, try to analyze why many employees have left. What is their profile and how long did they serve? Are your wages competitive with similar organizations? What are your existing HR policies? Before one goes around changing policies in any ad hoc manner, analyze which policy needs change and what will be the impact. Too many employees leaving needs a proper study to stem it. HR policy is one important instrument that can help out. The working environment should be improved so that employees feel cared for and thus become loyal.
