Resigned After 6 Years: Can I Withdraw My PF Without Legal Hassles?

Imransharfudeen
Hi, I resigned from my job last week after working at this company for six years. Could you please advise me on whether I can withdraw my PF amount and if there are any potential legal issues associated with the withdrawal?

Dear Imran,

No issues at all. PF withdrawal after 5 years of continuous contribution is exempted from tax. Hence, you can withdraw the amount without any tax liability. To initiate the withdrawal process, you can apply using form 19 and form 10C and submit them to your ex-employer. However, if your UAN is linked with Aadhar card and a bank account, you can directly deposit the withdrawal forms to the PF commissioner's office.

I hope this information helps.

Best regards

You may transfer your current PF account online through activating your UAN number. With this process, you do not need to submit any paperwork or obtain your employer's signature.
