Worried About Fake Experience on My Resume: What Are the Chances of Getting Caught?

Debratno
Hi Seniors, Currently, I have 4.5 years of experience. I am working in company "D". I started in company "A" as a fresher, worked there for 6 months, and then I worked in company "B" where I showed 1 and a half years of fake experience. I presented that experience before company "A" and continued there for 17 months. Afterward, I moved to company "C", removed the fake experience but retained the six months' genuine experience, and worked for 2 years. What is the probability of being caught? I graduated in 2009. Please help me.

Thank you.

Hi Debratno,

As per your statement, you have not shown any fake experience to the present company, and there is no way they are going to catch you for your miscreant act in the past. Still, is it worth it?

Mr. Debratno,

The probability is always 50:50. You might receive mixed responses of both yes and no from members. However, falsifying your experience can be detected at any time by any company you work for unless the company opts not to delve deeply into verifying all the companies you have worked with.

Hi Dhingra,

Up to how many companies does the employer verify? I am talking about big MNCs like TCS, Infosys, WIPRO, Cognizant, etc.

Hi Nathrao,

I need help on how to get rid of this problem in the near future. I ignored all these consequences when I did this, and now I am regretting my past. Please help me. Should I contact my third last immediate employer and ask if they can remove it from their database?

Please help, I'm in a pathetic mood.

You have to see what fake experiences you have shown in which companies. If the stay in such a company was not too long, probably you can delete it. The gap can be explained as having some domestic commitments or as studying to acquire additional qualifications. You have the complete picture and have to handle it carefully as gaps will be questioned during interviews or in the pre-scrutiny of your CV. The past is in the past, and regrets will not help.
