EPFO Launches Mobile Application and Services

Retirement fund body EPFO has launched a mobile application and other phone-based services for accessing PF account details for its over 3.54 crore subscribers, 49.22 lakh pensioners, and 6.1 lakh employers.

New Mobile-Based Services for EPF Members

The three new mobile-based services meant for EPF members are a Mobile Application, SMS-based Universal Account Number Activation, and a Missed Call service.

PF SMS alerts have started from Friday. Customers who want to know their total PF balance can just give a missed call to 01122901406 from their registered mobile numbers. Post that, customers will receive an SMS alert immediately.

Customers need to download the application from the EPFO website and then activate their UAN accounts from their mobile phones to access their accounts, view monthly credits, and details available with EPFO.

Benefits of UAN Activation

Once UAN is activated, the member becomes eligible for all services under the program such as credit alerts, passbooks, and the like. This new service is mainly helpful to those members who may not have easy access to computers or smartphones.

EPFO also has in place a Short Code SMS service, which helps members get their details along with contributions and PF balance through an SMS to 7738299899.
