Incorrect Father's Name in EPF Database: How Can I Fix This Mistake?

Dear Sir,

When an employee joined, I uploaded his details through ECR, and his father's name was added wrongly. I believe that this information will be stored in the EPF database. Could someone please provide a solution or procedure to correct this error?

Steps to Correct ECR Errors

1. If it is being done in the current month, you can cancel that ECR and upload the revised text file, then pay the amount for the new challan.

2. If this happened in previous months and the amount is paid, you can approach your EPF branch office with the corrected text file on a USB drive or CD. They will upload the same if there is no difference in the amount.

3. If this error occurred in the last financial year and PF slips are generated, then you have to submit a request letter attaching the government ID proof of the member to correct the member's profile.
