Inquiry About Standard HR Metrics

I am working in an engineering company located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, where we have 50 employees. Our annual turnover is around 125 Cr. I would like to inquire about the standard rates of increment, attrition, and absenteeism.

Degree Weightage and Job Profile Considerations

Additionally, I am interested in knowing the weightage to be given if an employee holds a degree from a full-time course compared to an employee with a degree obtained through distance learning. Please advise if there is any specific distance that should be maintained if both employees are working in the same job profile. We already consider performance standards.

Looks like your company is an established one, so obviously you would already have some policies regarding increments/appraisals. Please mention the current practices/policies so that the members can provide better suggestions based on ground realities.

As regards standard rates of attrition/absenteeism, please explain the exact situation you are facing. It is important to note that knowing the standard rates won't help you; what you need to understand are the causes for such situations, as they vary from company to company, even if they belong to the same sector.

Regarding your query about the weightage to be given if an employee has a degree from a full-time course compared to another employee with a degree through distance learning, please note that there is usually such a difference only during the joining process. Later, performance takes over for any salary hikes. After a couple of years, the full-time degree holder could potentially be earning less than the distance-learning degree holder.

When it comes to the quantum, it varies between geographical locations, as local factors dictate such issues. What is the current difference in practice in your company? This information would enable the members located in your state to provide actionable suggestions.
