Confused About Updating Bank Details in UAN Portal? Need Help with KYC Process!

Tharun2015
I have updated KYC details in the UAN member's portal (I uploaded a scanned copy of PAN card), but my employer is also asking to update bank details in the UAN member's portal. Do I need to upload a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque leaf in the KYC section? Or is there any other way to update bank details in the UAN member's portal? Please help me, guys...

Hi Tharun!

If you have your bank passbook front page, kindly scan and upload it to your UAN Portal. It should contain the Account Holder's Name, Account Number, Bank Name & Branch, and IFSC code as well.

Otherwise, provide such KYC scan copy or details to your current employer. They can upload it to your member portal along with your UAN.

Hi! Yes, you can upload your bank passbook into your UAN Portal.

I have already uploaded my PAN number, Aadhar number, and Voter ID since last one year, but these have not been updated by either my employer or the EPF office.

Is it necessary that the operating style of the bank account should be "Single" only? Is it true that a joint account, even with the wife, is not permitted for the withdrawal of PF.

Thanks and regards

Hi Gourangarath!

As per your statement, you had uploaded your document only on your UAN Portal, right? However, you should provide your KYC details to your employer so that they can also upload your KYC to EPFO.

Following documents can be used for KYC:
1. National Population Register (NPR)
2. Aadhaar
3. Permanent Account Number (PAN)
4. Bank Account Number
5. Passport
6. Driving License
7. Election Card
8. Ration Card
9. ESIC Card (Being introduced shortly)

In your case, i.e., S.No. 4, please upload the scanned copy of the bank passbook. This has to be digitally approved by the employer; until then, the status of KYC will be shown as pending.

Hi,

My employer has already updated my IDBI account during UAN registration. However, my PF account name does not match the name on my bank account. Can I or my employer change the bank account details since I have another SBI account with the same name as my PF account? If yes, please advise on the procedure. I just want to avoid any hassles during withdrawal due to this name mismatch.

To upload the second bank account in the member portal, log in with your own UAN. Then, ask the employer to approve the same digitally.

Hi John,

You can update your correct bank account and name through your unified member portal. Employers can also update your correct bank account and name with your KYC.

Remember to submit your correct bank details to your employer.

Thank you.

When wrong KYC details are entered, we need to input the correct KYC details again, and the employer needs to approve those new KYC details with their digital signature. This process was not an issue in the PF withdrawal process. If the EPF site shows different banks for the previous and current employers, how can one bank be removed?

You can always correct and update your bank account details in PF whenever you require, even if they have already been approved. To change your bank account details again, enter your new bank account details in the UAN portal and inform your employer to approve them. Once they approve them, your old bank account details will automatically become inactive, and the new bank account details will become active.
