Rejoining After Two Years: How to Handle PF Account Issues Without a UAN Number?

If an employee from X Company left the company two years ago but has not withdrawn his PF yet. After 2 years, he rejoined the same X Company and requested us to deduct the PF amount in the same account.

Two years ago, there was no system like UAN number. In this situation, his previous employer and current employer are the same. Due to this, we are unable to obtain a UAN number for the same account.

If both of your PF accounts are the same, there should be no issue in obtaining your PF UAN numbers. Kindly ask your employer or HR department for your UAN.

1. The PF department has generated UANs for all employees for the month of June 2014 (who have made contributions).
2. After June 2014, anyone joining the company will receive a new UAN number from the EPF department.
