Left Without Notice: How Can I Claim My EPF from My Previous Employer?

vmohanrajmba@gmail.com
Hi dear all,

I worked for 1 year at an MNC without serving the notice period, and I left the organization. After a couple of months, I tried to contact the responsible person regarding claiming my EPF amount. However, they are unwilling to talk and have not provided a proper answer. They mentioned that I am not eligible for the EPF amount because I did not complete the one-month notice period. Can you suggest how I can obtain the amount?

Thank you.

Hi Mohanraj,

If your previous company has to provide your PF account numbers, kindly submit your request to the HR Department. Also, mention the reasons for not completing the notice period.

Thank you.

Hi Mr. Mohanraj,

Your previous employer does not have the right to say you are not eligible for EPF because it is your money, and the fund is administered by the Provident Fund Organization. You cannot withdraw the PF without an employer's signature, so you have two options:

First, if you are currently employed, please transfer it to your new employer.

Second, write a letter to your previous employer explaining your circumstances which prevented you from serving the notice period and request their assistance.

With Regards,

Hello,

I support what Mr. Praveen has written. You can do one more thing - if you have the PF statement, then write a letter to the PF Commissioner/Authority, explaining the situation. This should be your last option. If the company is a PF member, they have to deposit the money. If they have not, then the company will be in a problem. So, think, try once again, otherwise, directly go to the PF office and get guidance from the PF Officer.

Thanks,
