How Do I Calculate Salaries for Mid-Month Joiners as a New HR Executive?

jhanvi vyas
Good Afternoon to all,

I am working in an IT startup company as an HR executive. I have been given the task of calculating the salary of employees. Some of them have joined in the middle of the month. How should I calculate their salary? Being a fresher, I do not have a clue about it.

Please help me out. This is my email Id jhanvi.appswebsol@gmail.com.

Salary Structure for Employees

There should be a salary structure for all employees.

Create an Excel sheet with the employee codes, names, date of joining (DOJ), PAN, PF number, and salary breakdown.

Consider the leaves for the month based on the defined pay cycle (e.g., 15th-15th or 30th-30th).

Calculate the monthly compensation, including additional variable pay or deductions for leaves or any other reasons, for each employee individually.

Take into account their individual savings before tax calculations (I will provide the Excel format for these calculations if needed).

Deduct the taxes and calculate the net payable amount.

Process the payment.
