Struggling to Claim My Old PF Without Account Numbers – Any Advice on the Process?

manoj.bharti
Dear Friends,

I worked in two companies earlier - one headquartered in Kolkata from October 2001 to May 2004, and another based in Mumbai from June 2004 to May 2005. In both companies, I have neither had my PF transferred to my current company nor made any efforts to claim it. Now, I need help to process this. I would be grateful if anyone could suggest the procedure.

I also do not have the PF account number of the latter company. :(

Please help.

Manoj.

Hi,

You can fill Form 10C & 19 and send it to the employer. If you can go personally, it will be better. Otherwise, talk to the HR first and then mail it. Ask them to fill in the necessary details like PF account number and also attach your certified Form 3A copies for all years. Form 10C & 19 are attached.

Abhi

Hi Abhi,

Since both employers are in different cities, it might be a difficult task to visit them. However, I'll contact their HR personnel. Can you tell me if the employer doesn't help in this, is there any other way to get the PF realized as I mentioned that I don't have the PF account number of the latter employer? Please also let me know if there is any time limit for withdrawing the same.

Regards,
Manoj.

Manoj,

In that case, you may face some difficulty. Try to at least get your PF number from them. The attestation part of the form can be done by any gazetted officer. If the employer doesn't help you, in that case, you can complain to the PF authorities. It is illegal on the part of the employer to obstruct an employee's PF; they can be penalized for the same. However, try to sort out the matter amicably.

Regards,
Abhishek
