How Can We Make Diwali Extra Special for Employees Beyond Gifts and Sweets?

Hello Everyone,

With Diwali just around the corner, I'm sure all the HR professionals are busy organizing events, arranging gifts, sweets, and so on. However, I'm curious to know what else we could do to make this occasion even more special for our employees, beyond the usual gifts and sweets. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards, Rivti

Here are some more -

1- Employees get together along with their family members.

2- Organizing small fairs/Melas (at/outside the factory premises) in which household items (consumer durables, non-durables, furniture, candles, automobiles, kitchen items, etc.) are to be displayed and sold by the concerned party to the employees at competitive prices.

3- Arranging finance on easy installments for purchasing the above items, etc.

4- On the day of the Diwali festival, seniors should surprise visit the residence of their subordinates, juniors, and deliver a small token gift/crackers to the kids of the family.

In our organization, the above actions leave a year-long, rather lifelong impression.

Hope it will help you.

Hi Judy,

You may engage the employees for 2-3 hours with Diwali-themed activities.

Hi there,

You can organize various competitions such as sweets, rangoli competition, drawing competition, mehndi, flowers, or essay competition, etc. Ask everyone to be traditionally dressed. Have a potluck (where all employees bring food from home and share meals together). Also, have a pooja on Dassera day. Arrange lunch and a DJ or some music for their enjoyment and refreshment.

Thank you.
