Dear all,
As we know, the Delhi minimum wages have been revised w.e.f. 01/10/2015 as follows:
- Unskilled: 9178
- Semi-skilled: 10140
- Skilled: 11154
Now, the question arises: is the basic wage equal to the minimum wages? If we hire an employee in the skilled category (Supervisor) with a gross salary of 12000/- per month, I would like to understand the compensation breakdown. Can we structure his 12000/- wage as (basic 9178, conveyance 800, HRA 2022), or should it be (basic 11154 and the remainder in other allowances)?
Compensation Breakdown for Skilled Employees
Note: Previously, we had been showing the basic as 9100 for all workmen categories (unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled). For instance, if an employee works as a computer operator with 1+ year of experience and a graduate degree, and is paid 12500/- per month, thereby considered at a skilled level, what would be his compensation breakdown? In the September salary, we showed basic 9100, conveyance 800, and HRA 2600. Is this correct? Kindly advise on the appropriate approach.
Thank you.
