Navigating Job Transitions: Will My Resignation Affect My New Government Role?

Vishal singhwal
Dear Sir,

I am an employee of the Food Corporation of India, which is a PSU organization. I have been working here for a year. I joined FCI on the 15th of October 2014. Before joining FCI, I applied for the SSC CGL exam in 2013. I took both the preliminary and main exams before joining FCI. I am currently in a probation period of one year, so I submitted my resignation with a notice period of one month for personal and family reasons from FCI. This resignation was effective from the 13th of October 2015. However, I have not yet received any acceptance or relieving letter.

I have now been selected for the position of auditor in CGDA Allahabad through the SSC CGL exam 2013, which is a central government job. A few days ago, I received an attestation form from Allahabad, in which I mentioned that I am an employee of FCI currently serving a one-month notice period. I have sent this form to Allahabad.

My concern is that since I resigned for personal and family reasons without informing FCI about my new job offer, could this cause issues in the future? If I provide the relieving letter at the time of joining in Allahabad, will it be sufficient to support my candidature? I am in a dilemma and fear losing both job opportunities.

Please advise me on the best course of action. Thank you for your assistance.

Regards
Vishal singhwal
Sir, will I face any problems in the near future? Will FCI create any issues by saying that you didn't inform us about your selection?

Hello Vishal Singhwal,

Nathrao is right... why get into such a situation and then lament that you will go without any job... like the saying in Hindi goes: "na ghar ka na ghat ka".

Please provide the following inputs:

1. What date did you resign from FCI?
2. What is the date of the CGDA Allahabad Appointment Letter... meaning what is the date mentioned in the letter and on what date did you get the letter (both dates can't be the same, given postal transit time)?

In order to join a post in Government, you are not required to produce a relieving letter from the former employer unless it is a matter of technical resignation, i.e., resigning from one Government job and joining another so that past service is counted, pay is protected, etc.

Joining of CGDA Allahabad may occur in December or may be delayed. I gave one month's notice period starting from the 14th of September, and it was completed on the 13th of October.
