PF Name and Bank Account Name Should Match?

Hi, my name is Tharun Kumar B. R. in PF and Pan Card, but in the bank account, my name is B. R. Tharun Kumar. So will the PF office reject my application? Please share your suggestions.

One will need to change the name in the PF, as without the documents, the bank account cannot be changed.

Steps of PF Name & DOB Change:

1. Download the Name & DOB correction form.
2. Fill in your details and print it.
3. Sign the printed form and get it signed by your employer.
4. Get it stamped with the company seal.
5. Attach the self-attested copy of identity proof with the application.
6. Now, it is the responsibility of your employer to send the application to the regional PF commissioner.

Hi Tharun,

I recently faced a similar situation in the last few days. I suggest that you change the name in your bank because documents like your PAN card should have the correct name. If you join a new company, they will verify your name using your PAN card details and number. Therefore, it would be wise to contact your bank relationship manager to update your name.

Dear Tarun,

I read about your problem regarding suffering from a PF issue. One solution is if the employer verified in the company letterhead is Mr. XYZ s/o GHJ and Mr. YKK s/o GHJ is the same person, the PF officer accepted the form. This is possible, and many cases have been solved by the PF through this process.

Dear Tarun,

If the employer verifies on the company letterhead that the person referred to as xyz and zxy is the same person, the PF will be accepted.

Hi, guys. Thank you so much for your help. Finally, my name got changed in the bank account, so I am going to apply very shortly. One more thing, guys, I have updated KYC details in the UAN member portal (I uploaded a scanned copy of PAN card), but my employer is asking to update bank details in the UAN members portal. Do I need to upload a canceled cheque leaf in the KYC section, or is there any other way to update bank details in the UAN members portal?
