Switching EPF Consultancies: How Do We Navigate the ECR Tool with Our New Admin?

Hello Sir,

Our EPF works are done by one of the consultancies. Now, we have changed our consultancy, and we are about to start using the ECR tool for all the work related to EPF. The new consultancy has created an admin user in the ECR tool. However, they are unsure about how to use it. Can you please help us with this?

I feel it's better to use the Excel tool to file returns rather than the EPF software. If you want to use that tool, then you have to update all the employee details, even those of the employees who have left. If you are ready to update, then it's better to use the E-return tool.

Thank you for your response. As mentioned, perhaps our consultancy used the EPF tool for remitting. In that case, is there a chance to recover that data, or do I need to add it again? If I add it, will there be duplication or not?

What you can do is take the backup of the data related to your company and try to retrieve the same data so that you can save time. After retrieval, you can add new employees if any and process the E-Return tool for EPF.

It is very easy nowadays. Just download the software from the EPFO site and update your company and employee profiles accordingly. I hope you have the details regarding the e-return submitted by your consultant. Please ask him to provide the details.

I have been using this software since December 2012. It is very easy to use. Just get started.
