Are There Legal Limits on Day Shift Hours for Female Employees in Flexible Workplaces?

longbow_01
Hello everyone,

Currently, I am reviewing the HR policy in my company, and we have flexible working hours, with some female employees staying late until 8 pm. I want to know, as per the law, what are the working hours for female employees during the day shift. Can I set fixed office timings for female employees, such as from 9 am to 6 pm or 10 am to 7 pm?

Please advise and suggest.

Thanks,

Hello, Ms. Begum,

According to Sec. 66 of the Factories Act-1948, no women should be allowed to work between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM. If your organization is covered under the Factories Act, then you should follow the same. Please check with the Shops and Establishment Act if your organization falls into that category.

With Regards,
