Understanding Gujarat's Minimum Wage Update: How Will It Affect You from October 2015 to March 2016?

Kindly find the attachment below for the minimum wages for Gujarat State Government. VDA will increase from 1st October 2015 to 31st March 2016.

With my limited ability to read Gujarati, it is evident that the wages mentioned are so low that there seems to be some mistake.

Dear Padmavathi,

The Gujarat government has decreased the Minimum Wage by 0.10 Rs. w.e.f. 01/10/2015. Zone-wise, the new Minimum Wage will be as follows for all types of industries:

Zone- 1:
- Unskilled: 286.30
- Semi-skilled: 294.30
- Skilled: 303.30

Zone- II:
- Unskilled: 278.30
- Semi-skilled: 286.30
- Skilled: 294.30

The Gujarat government has increased the Minimum Wage by 0.10 Rs. effective from 01/04/2016 to 30/09/2016. Zone-wise, the new Minimum Wage will be as follows for all types of industries:

Zone-1:
- Unskilled: 286.30 + 9.50 = 295.80
- Semi-skilled: 294.30 + 9.50 = 303.80
- Skilled: 303.30 + 9.50 = 312.80

Zone-II:
- Unskilled: 278.30 + 9.50 = 287.80
- Semi-skilled: 286.30 + 9.50 = 295.80
- Skilled: 294.30 + 9.50 = 303.80
