However passionate and interested you may be in getting an internal transfer, the company will transfer you only if
- the transfer falls with the company's internal policy
- there is a clear requirement of a person with your qualifications and background in the department that you seek to move to
- if they can spare you from your current assignment or find an alternative for you in your current position.
Your letter must therefore address the above issues and you must also state a compelling reason for your urge to be shifted to the new department. Highlight your experience that could be leveraged by the company in your new role, inform them about any additional qualifications that you have acquired that makes you a suitable candidate, if possible also dwell upon your strengths that would enable you to contribute more in your new role.
