Gujarat's Minimum Wage Hike: How Does It Affect You Starting October 2015?

The Gujarat Government has increased the minimum wages with effect from 01.10.2015. Attached is a letter from the Labour Commissioner's office of Gujarat.

If you refer to the earlier minimum wages of Gujarat, you will notice that they have now decreased by 10 paise.

Gujarat Minimum Wages: 1st Oct 2015 to 31st Mar 2016

Dear all, The Gujarat Government has reduced the per day Dearness Allowance by 0.10 to 0.020 Paisa per day. The new Dearness Allowance rates are as follows:

Employment Category
DA Per Day

- Sweeping/Cleaning Work: Rs. 15.60
- Brick Manufacturing/Jari Work/Ready-made Garment/Tailoring/Salt Work/Tobacco/Cigarette Manufacturing: Rs. 97.80
- Apart from the above categories, Agarbatti Manufacturing and other categories such as Shop & Establishment/Hotel & Restaurant, etc.: Rs. 10.30

Dear Sir,

As per the attached circular of the Gujarat State Govt, the last line indicating the rate of daily Dearness Allowance (DA) is missing. Could you please provide information on the new DA rate effective from 01.10.15 as per the Minimum Wage Act?
