Facing Dual Employment Issues Due to Past Mistakes: How Can I Protect My Current Job?

Ashish 2015
Hi, I currently work as a quality executive in Pune, India. I was working for another company in Pune for 8 years without any problems. Prior to that, I worked in Mumbai where my actual last working day was 29th April 2007, and my joining date at company B was April 30, 2007. However, company A has sent me a relieving letter stating my last working day as June 9, 2007. Now, at my new company C, there is a negative background verification for dual employment. All of this happened because my manager at the Mumbai company delayed my resignation handover process by a month. Now, he is also out of reach as he has resigned from there.

Please, can you suggest what I can do to save my current job and what consequences I may face? This situation was totally out of my control.

Thanks

Dear Ashish, do you have your Mumbai company's relieving letter with you, which states that your last day was prior to 30th April 2007? Please present that letter to your new company. At the same time, get in touch with your Mumbai company and explain to them that your last working day was 29th April 2007, as per the relieving letter issued at that time. Since you have also not received your salary for May and June 2007, it proves that your last working day was prior to 30th April 2007.

Once they confirm, ask them to resend the BVG mail to your new company.

Regards,
